Description: I collected this sherd for its exemplary coherence. It’s part of the lip of a pot, presumably, and either Roman or Moorish in vintage. Sherds higher up on the mountain, by the “summit”, are generally in smaller pieces due to livestock traffic.

It’s easy to see the horizontal finger-marks on what would have been the inside of the pot, made as it was spun on the wheel. The outside is lavishly and variously ridged; this was not the craftsperson’s first effort. Interestingly, without Photoshop it’s almost impossible to see the tiny stones set almost equidistantly along the top of the lip.
